Empty House, Full Heart!
As we put the final items on the moving trailer, and I did one last walk through to make sure we didn’t leave anything, my mind races over the years that my family and I lived in this house. Although the thoughts of leaving are sad, the excitement of where God is taking us brings joy to my heart. My mind jumped to a passage of Scripture in Genesis chapter 12, verses 1 through 3. Here we find God giving instructions to Abram to leave where He was and to go to a land that God was going to show him. Now I am not even coming close to comparing myself with him, but I see some similarities in this story and in our lives as Christians. God many times does call His people out of their comfort zones into the unknown for His purpose, honor, glory, and so many others will be blessed.
1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
